Practice Management Software Gets an AI Upgrade
By Damon Anderson, 25 June 2026. 1 minute read.

For years, practice management was the least AI-touched corner of the accounting stack. This month, three of its biggest names moved at once.
Karbon launched Kai, an AI coworker that joins client meetings and takes notes, triages your inbox, and runs agentic checks over the period close.
FYI rolled out FYI AI: it drafts email replies, triages and assigns incoming work, and files and summarises documents automatically.
Socket launched Forms: AI-built, branded client forms. Describe what you need and it builds it, or upload a PDF and it rebuilds it, feeding straight into onboarding and your pipeline.
Three bets, three different plays
The signal isn't that all three added AI, it's where each is betting. Socket is taking the front door, winning and onboarding clients. FYI is keeping the practice's day running cleanly. Karbon is building a coworker that inches toward doing the work, not just assisting it. None is fully agentic yet, but Karbon's agentic-workflows capability is the one to watch.
