The AI Accounting Software World Ranking

How it's scored
Every vendor gets a single score from 0 to 100, showing the top 50 (of 346 vendors in the report). The score blends five weighted factors: how mature and central the vendor's AI actually is, how much of the accounting workflow it covers, how well-evidenced its claims are, how much real market traction it's showing, and how deeply it's covered in the report. Vendors whose AI is a bolt-on feature rather than core to the product are discounted on the factors that reward size and coverage, so incumbents can't out-rank AI-native tools purely by being bigger or better known. A small legacy adjustment carried from the July edition is two thirds unwound this month and disappears entirely in November, which accounts for most of the downward movement you can see.
The ranking measures capability, not availability, so a product still in beta or on a waitlist is ranked on the same basis as everything else. The Stage column tells you which is which, because a pre-launch tool scoring well is worth knowing about and worth knowing you cannot buy yet.
MCP capability is shown but does not affect rank. The new column rates whether a vendor ships a Model Context Protocol server, so an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT can read from and act inside the product: 5 means it reads and writes with a log of every AI action, 2 means it can read but not change anything, and "None found" means I checked that vendor's own site on a date and saw nothing. It is published this month for information only and starts counting towards the score in the November edition, so every vendor gets notice before it moves anyone. Nobody is pushed down for not having one.
